BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
Independent Tile & Granite Importer, Supplier and Retailer
Ref.ET030
Location South Buckinghamshire
Asking Price £ 110,000
This profitable and easily run business is based in retail premises on the main street of the most prestigious town in South Buckinghamshire. The business has recently transferred ownership but due to unforeseen circumstances would like to sell.

The business is an independent tile and stone supplier and importer, offering unrivalled customer service, expertise, tile and stone advice plus a measuring and fitting service by pre-approved specialist teams of tile and stone fixers.

With extensive experience the business has the capability of knowing the market and its products supplying the latest tiles to come onto the market. The extensive range includes travertine, granite, marble, limestone, glass mosaics, porcelain and slate as well as all the top branded adhesives and tile accessories.

The premises are a showroom of product which is all supplied by the suppliers, with whom the vendor has an excellent business relationship. All stock is purchased through an agent who delivers on a ‘just in time’ basis, hence the business carries little or no stock as clients buy the goods and pay upfront, the vendor then orders the merchandise, takes delivery to the site and then pays for the goods.

Selling both to trade and direct the business maintains a strong commercial balance, the vendor quotes and measures all jobs and works in the retail premises with 30% of the business being generated from builders, contractors and developers, 70% of the business is from sales to the general public. Fitting and maintenance cleaning is also undertaken by 3 teams of fitters, all of whom are sub-contractors.

Expansion Potential
Already a successful business in its own right, should the new owner wish to expand there are several avenues for growth, possibly by diversifying into new geographic areas. Sales continue to grow and with additional staffing and further promotion within the appropriate market sectors, would offer this financially attractive business even more upside potential.
There is plenty of scope within the existing market as the company has very strong supplier relationships that ensure they offer the most up to date in demand products to clients.

Market / Competition / Non-Competition Agreements
A high proportion of the business’s revenue has been due to its excellent position on the high street, plus the fact that there is no competition. This has always ensured a constant stream of repeat business and strong word of mouth recommendations. The company website generates marginal business at the moment.
