BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
Unique Tea Production & Packaging Company
Ref. EJ075
Location : Relocatable
Asking Price : GBP95,000
The business is the in house production and packaging of uniquely designed tea bags using pure natural fruits with a high quality Darjeeling tea.
The company owns the Design Registration and Trade Mark for the product, as well as the Patent rights to the production machinery.
Competition is very limited in this area, the product is known for its design and for the quality of the natural dried fruit and the single estate tea that goes into the product
Initial turnover was based on 100 privately owned delis, Royal Horticultural Society shops and listings in National Trust retail units until national supermarkets came on board two years after the launch. The American Armed Forces became one of the largest customers within Europe retailing through their supermarket styled outlets and through a strong mail order catalogue.
A national department store carried the product in their restaurants as did BMW and Mercedes groups in their showrooms due to the uniqueness of the branded product.
Stores and Food Halls in the Far East and Hong Kong carry the product, and have been good clients taking a number of ranges and also carrying the product for many special events.
The vendor has attended specialist food fairs and shows to build up the mail order side of the business. The shows have attracted additional export business since the vendor decided to walk away from supermarket trade a few years ago, due to excessively slow payments and their unrealistic demands from them.
Over the years, the vendor has moved production units three times in order to maintain low overhead costs.
However in September 2014 the vendor decided to close production and the machinery was placed in storage. Please note that this business is therefore currently not trading.
